Adrift! So many boats adrift!
Indifference lets us down.
Will no one welcome a drift’d boat
Into our hearts and towns?
News anchors say, on yesterday,
One’s engine did break down,
We turn it back, we turn our backs –
In apathy we drown.
But we can choose another way,
One that is just and fair.
We’re all adrift upon this sea,
That boat is also you and me,
With boundless plains to share.
